Macintosh eScale DiagnosticsSerial Port In Use? |
It is possible that the serial port is in use by another application. Mac OS X networking sometimes sees the serial port as an available line of communication for networking, so it may want to open the port and listen for connections. Other applications such as utilities for syncing handheld devices, etc., may also use serial ports and may have opened the serial port.
To check Mac OS X networking to see if it using the serial port, open System Preferences and click on the Network icon.
Select Network Port Configurations from the Show: menu. Uncheck the usbserial port if it is checked.
